Aljaz bedene suffers first-round exit in beijing

British number two Aljaz Bedene was dumped out of the ATP China Open in the first round by Lukas Rosol on Monday.

The Slovenia-born 26-year-old had looked on course to get the better of his Czech opponent when he cruised through the first set in 28 minutes, but Rosol hit back to prevail 1-6 7-6 (8/6) 6-3 in Beijing.

The result earned Rosol a second-round date with either fourth seed David Ferrer or Thomaz Bellucci, and ensured Bedene - currently world number 54 - will not be able to break into the top 50 before the end of 2015.
