Slovakia edge out Russia to claim mixed team trap gold at Baku 2015

Zuzana Stefecekova and Erik Varga take gold in the mixed team trap event to get Slovakia off the mark in terms of gold medals at the first ever European Games.

Slovakia have won their first ever gold medal at the European Games, courtesy of Zuzana Stefecekova and Erik Varga's success in the mixed team trap event.

The pair missed just three of their 30 targets between them to edge out Russian Federation's Elena Tkach and Alexey Alipov, who scored 21 in the final at the Baku Shooting Centre.

San Marino, who narrowly missed out to Russia in the earlier semi-final round, claimed bronze by beating Spain in the third-place playoff.

Slovakia now have four medals to their name overall, three of which have come in shooting events.
