Warren Gatland: 'Some Welsh players in France want to return home'

Wales head coach Warren Gatland reveals that some Welsh players want to return home "sooner rather than later".

Wales head coach Warren Gatland has revealed that some Welsh stars competing in France want to return home.

French newspaper L'Equipe recently claimed that Mike Phillips, Dan Lydiate and Jamie Roberts were keen on returning to Wales after signing for Racing Metro.

Phillips has since rubbished these reports on Twitter, but Gatland has stated in a question and answer session on the Welsh Rugby Union website that some players are considering their futures.

"We haven't instigated contact with the players, but we are aware that one or two of them are keen to return to Wales sooner rather than later," said Gatland.

Gatland is hopeful that he can guide Wales to their third Six Nations title in four seasons next year.
