Jonathan Davies, Alex Cuthbert tries seal Wales win

Alex Cuthbert and Jonathan Davies score tries for Wales to give them a 26-9 win over Italy.

Wales have claimed their second win of the 2013 Six Nations with a 26-9 victory over Italy at the Stadio Olimpico.

A close opening spell saw the visitors take a 9-6 lead at half time, with Leigh Halfpenny and Kris Burton exchanging penalty kicks in wet conditions in Rome.

Burton looked for a drop goal early in the second half, but his effort was off-target, allowing Alex Cuthbert to kick the ball away. Wales were then able to go on the attack, resulting in a try for Jonathan Davies.

Italy pushed hard as they looked to get back on level terms, but an error in the scrum saw Martin Castrogiovanni sent to the sin bin.

The reigning Six Nations champions capitalised on their one-man advantage, Cuthbert sliding over the try line to put Wales 17 points ahead.

Wales switched to a defensive mindset, allowing Italy to keep possession, but they rarely threatened the visitors' try line as Wales clinched the win.
