Matthew Rees out of Six Nations opener

Matthew Rees will miss Wales's Six Nations opener against Ireland this weekend with a calf injury.

The former skipper sustained the problem during a training session and as a result will miss the next two weeks.

That means he will also miss the fixture against Scotland in a fortnight's time.

Rees has joined an injury list that includes Gethin Jenkins, Lloyd Burns, Luke Charteris, Alun-Wyn Jones and Jamie Roberts.
