Jonathan Davies 'should feature in Six Nations'

Wales are optimistic that Scarlets centre Jonathan Davies will feature in their remaining Six Nations matches as he continues to recover from a pectoral injury.

Wales are optimistic that Jonathan Davies will be fit to feature in the latter stages of their Six Nations campaign.

The Scarlets centre has not played since injuring his pectoral muscle during the Red Dragons' home defeat to South Africa in November.

With Scott Williams already sidelined, the return of Davies would greatly aid the champions' attempts to defend their crown and Wales are hoping that he can step up his rehabilitation with a club outing this weekend.

"His fitness is excellent, and he has been working incredibly hard with the conditioners," Wales assistant coach Shaun Edwards told reporters. "He just needs to work on his match fitness a bit and gain some confidence.

"It is that type of injury where he can have the confidence to put his shoulder into a tackle. But it would not surprise me if he got some game-time this weekend [for Scarlets]."

Wales are one of four sides that have won two out of their three Six Nations matches so far this campaign, and are next in action when they play England at Twickenham a week on Sunday.
