The Welsh Rugby Union are hopeful of hosting some matches during the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.

Welsh Rugby Union chief executive Roger Lewis has revealed that they are in a "very strong position" when it comes to hosting matches at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium during the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.

Talks are currently ongoing about the possibility of some games being played in the Welsh capital and Lewis insists that the signs are "encouraging".

"We are in a very strong position and it is looking very, very encouraging," Lewis told BBC Sport. "I think we're going to make a bit of noise in Cardiff in 2015.

"All the signs are hugely encouraging and it will be great for Welsh fans to enjoy some World Cup rugby on home soil."

Wales reached the semi-final of the current World Cup in New Zealand before losing to France on Saturday.
