Shaun Edwards: 'England win means a lot to Wales'

Shaun Edwards claims that everyone in Wales, except the players, are thoroughly celebrating their victory over England.

Wales defence coach Shaun Edwards has revealed that he knew how much their win over England meant to fans when he saw a priest celebrating the result.

The 2011 semi-finalists came back from 19-9 down at Twickenham, with a Dan Biggar penalty sealing a 28-25 victory in their Pool A encounter.

However, Edwards has said that, apart from the players, everyone else he has seen is celebrating the performance.

"I think the players were quite restrained because they've got Thursday coming up," Edwards told reporters.

"However, the management were quite lively, I've got to say, especially Paul Stridgeon (strength and conditioning coach) who was at the front of the bus singing away. It was a memorable trip home and we got back at 3am.

"I went to mass this morning and even the priest came out and put his hands up in the air to celebrate. That's when you know you are making a difference to the nation. It's the first time I have ever seen anything like that happen."

Wales now face Fiji in Cardiff on Thursday before returning to Twickenham for their final pool game against Australia.
