Robin McBryde to lead Wales in Japan

Wales forwards coach Robin McBryde will lead the team into next summer's tour of Japan, with Shaun Edwards acting as his assistant.

Edwards was not selected as one of Warren Gatland's staff for the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia next year and will therefore remain with his country.

"I am delighted and extremely proud to have again been handed the honour of leading Wales," McBryde told reporters.

"It is a privilege to coach my country and I will embark on this tour determined to get the best out of the squad against what I know will prove to be tough opposition."

Wales play Japan on June 8 in Osaka.
