Scotland avenge Six Nations loss with win over Italy

Scotland edge past Italy in warm-up win

Scotland have beaten Italy in Rome thanks to a late try from Henry Pyrgos, handing them their first win of 2015.

Two penalties from fly-half Duncan Weir put the visitors 6-0 up, but his opposite number Tommaso Allan hit back and kept Italy in touch.

Weir added another to put Scotland 9-3 up, but two more from Allan sent the teams in at half time 9-9.

In a scrappy second half, Gonzalo Garcia put Italy ahead and it looked like they would pull off their second win over Scotland this year until the final two minutes.

Scotland inside centre Matt Scott darted down the wing, before supplying Pyrgos, who ran in from a few yards to score the game-winning try.
