Scotland scrum-half Greig Laidlaw says that he is "over" missing out on the British and Irish Lions squad for this summer.

Scotland scrum-half Greig Laidlaw has admitted that he has finally accepted missing out on the British and Irish Lions squad for this summer.

The Edinburgh number nine was expected to be a part of the Lions squad for the tour of Australia, but he has now switched his attention to his country.

"Of course I wanted to go. It was their decision, I'm over it now and focusing on Scotland. I was happy with how I played during the Six Nations. They didn't want to take me and I can live with that," he told Press Association Sport.

"I played the best rugby of my career during the championships. We finished third and I was very happy with that. I was happy with my form, now I'm just hoping to push on with this summer tour."

Scotland fly out to South Africa on Friday.
