Beattie suffers thigh injury

Scotland forward Johnnie Beattie could miss Saturday's international against Italy with a thigh injury.

The 27-year-old, who suffered the knock on Friday, is expected to be replaced by Rob Harley for the clash in Pretoria.

Interim head coach Scott Johnson told reporters at a press conference: "We will see how Beattie pulls up in the morning. He is a tough lad and resilient and has played injured before.

"We'll make a late decision: One, because we have no choice and, two, because he has the character to carry it."

Beattie has 23 international caps to his name.
