New Zealander Ben May has agreed to join Japanese outfit Sanix at the end of the current campaign.

The experienced Hurricanes prop, who has only played for the Crusaders, has revealed that he is "really looking forward" to the new challenge.

"I'm really looking forward to this next step in my career. When I signed on to the 'Canes, I knew it would be my last stint in New Zealand," he told reporters at a press conference.

"Coming to Wellington was a fresh challenge and I have enjoyed every minute, but it's not over yet. My focus is completely with the Hurricanes and making sure this season we go a step better than last year."

May made his Super 14 debut for the Crusaders in 2007.
