Dan Carter out of World Cup

New Zealand fly-half Dan Carter has been ruled out of the Rugby World Cup with a groin injury.

The 29-year-old sustained the injury during kicking practice on Friday.

The news comes after Carter was given the captain's armband due to Richie McCaw's withdrawl from the tournament through injury.
