Lomu admitted to hospital

Former All Blacks winger Jonah Lomu has been admitted to hospital following a kidney-related health problem.

The 36-year-old was diagnosed with a kidney disorder called nephrotic syndrome in 1995.

His wife Nadene said: "All I can say is that my husband is stable and until we know exactly what's wrong, we are not prepared to comment."

It was confirmed by the Auckland District Health Board that Lomu had been taken to the renal and liver transplant ward of Auckland Hospital but they would not comment any further.
