Ireland name extended Six Nations, Wolfhounds squad

Ireland name an extended 46-man squad for the upcoming Six Nations tournament, as well as the Wolfhounds' match against England Saxons.

Ireland have named an extended 46-man squad for the Six Nations tournament, as well as the Wolfhounds' clash against England Saxons.

The coaching staff have opted to include two uncapped players - Connacht prop Nathan White and Leinster back-row Jack Conan.

Head coach Joe Schmidt said: "The coaching group have tried to strike a balance between some players getting the chance to fully complete their rehabilitation programmes, or get a bit of rest and others getting the opportunity to push their claims with further game time in the Wolfhounds fixture."

Ireland will begin their Six Nations campaign against Italy at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on February 7.
