Chris Robshaw hails "outstanding" England response

Robshaw hails "outstanding" response

England captain Chris Robshaw has praised his teammates for their "outstanding" response which has left them in with a chance of winning the Six Nations title.

Having narrowly lost to France in their opening game of the tournament last month, England have hit back with four successive victories to lead the table.

A victory for Ireland over France later today in Paris will secure top spot for the Irish, but Robshaw is still proud of today's performance against Italy. "The response after France has been outstanding and now we just have to sit and wait," the 27-year-old is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "We always knew it was going to be tough. The last two encounters we've had against Italy there was no more than a score in it.

"We were focused and ready. We came here to score 50 points and that's what we did, but unfortunately we conceded. If we hadn't conceded I'm not sure what it would have been [the points difference] but we're still in a good position."

The clash between France and Ireland gets underway at 5pm.
