England thrash Italy to keep title hopes alive

England score seven tries in an emphatic 52-11 win over Italy in the Six Nations.

England have crushed Italy 52-11 in the Six Nations to keep their chances of winning the championship alive.

The home side scored first as Luciano Orquera had an early penalty, but Mike Brown responded with a couple of tries for England.

Owen Farrell also found his way over the line before half time to put the visitors in a comfortable position heading into half time.

England kept the tries coming in the second half, with Manu Tuilagi and Mako Vunipola among those running the points up.

The hosts finally scored their first try of the afternoon late on, as Leonardo Sarto intercepted an England pass before running it back for the Azzurri, although Chris Robshaw burst over for England's seventh with the final action of the match.

The result leaves England level on points with Ireland, and just eight behind them on points difference, meaning that they can claim the title if France beat Ireland later today.
