Chris Robshaw disappointed with manner of defeat

England captain Chris Robshaw feels that his side made life too easy for Ireland as Joe Schmidt's men recorded a 19-9 victory in their Six Nations encounter.

England captain Chris Robshaw has expressed his disappointment with the manner of his side's defeat to Ireland.

Joe Schmidt's side fended off a late surge from the Red Rose as Stuart Lancaster's men were to rue 13 costly penalties in the contest at the Aviva Stadium.

Robshaw feels that his team made life too easy for Ireland as they presented Jonny Sexton with several close-range kicks, which allowed the home side to take an insurmountable lead.

He told BBC Sport: "We're very disappointed. We didn't get the result we wanted. Credit to the Irish, but we gave them their points too easily.

"At times we matched them, but the penalty count is an area for us to work on this week."

England are next in action against Scotland at Twickenham on March 14.
