Stuart Lancaster: 'Twickenham key for England'

Stuart Lancaster believes that the Twickenham crowd have a key role to play when England meet Wales in Pool A on Saturday.

Stuart Lancaster has called on the Twickenham crowd to play an important role when England meet Wales in their second World Cup fixture on Saturday.

Twickenham played host to the opening ceremony and first Pool A fixture last Friday as England kicked off the tournament with a 35-11 victory over Fiji.

Wales also started their campaign with an extra-point win when they met Uruguay on Sunday, and Lancaster believes that his side's supporters can make a difference in a tougher test.

"We have a lot of respect for the Wales coaching team and their players, they are a high-quality side and I am sure it will be some occasion on Saturday evening," the England coach told reporters.

"The support at Twickenham last week was incredible with the crowd really getting behind us and we will need them again this week to lift the players against a tough Wales team."

Lancaster has made three changes to his side for the Pool A fixture, with Sam Burgess, Owen Farrell and Billy Vunipola earning starts.
