Johnson: Incident has been ‘put to bed’

England team manager Martin Johnson has refused to be drawn on the incident involving Mike Tinall in a night club, claiming that the incident has been ‘put to bed’.

Tindall will play his first match since the much-publicised night out this Saturday against Romania.

"We've played since [the night out]. We've put it to bed,” Johnson said.

Ben Foden has backed Tindall to make a telling impact on his return to the side.

"I'm sure he'll answer his critics the same way he usually does. Mike's a very professional guy. He hasn't let it influence him in training or anything like that,” he said.

"It's a personal matter that he's sorting out. He seems fine. I think it's all been eradicated and quickly forgotten.

"He'll be keener than anyone to go out there on the weekend and show the critics he is here to win a World Cup and perform well for England. Hopefully he'll answer the critics in the right way."

England aim to secure their third win after victories over Georgia and Argentina.
