Interview: England's Jamie George reflects on win over Uruguay

Sports Mole speaks to England hooker Jamie George following the team's 60-3 win over Uruguay at the Rugby World Cup.

England have concluded a disappointing Rugby World Cup campaign with a 60-3 win over Uruguay at the Etihad Stadium.

The host nation scored 10 tries in the victory, but already knew that it would be their final match at the tournament following losses to Wales and Australia.

After the match, Sports Mole spoke to England and Saracens hooker Jamie George:

What is you reaction to tonight's match?

"I think it was brilliant to be honest. It was a very exciting game, it was great to be involved in such a brilliant game where we put out on the field the type of rugby we want to play. It's great to have such young talent on the field as well, having that very exciting thing for England moving forward.

Were you pleased to get an extended spell on the pitch [George replaced the injured Tom Youngs in the first half]

"Any opportunity to play for England is a brilliant one and I just tried to make the most of it. It probably came a little bit earlier than I thought it was going to happen in the first half but I was really happy to be out there and playing. It lives up to everything you dream of it being as a kid, when you play for England it's so special. You've got to try to prosper every time you put on the shirt and get the opportunity to play.

What was the atmosphere like in training in the run up to this match?

"We don't beat around the bush about it, it was very difficult to take the loss against Australia, but I was very impressed with how the boys turned it around. There was a big focus that we wanted to finish strong and put in a good performance which is what I think we did in the end. It shows that we've got real good character within the squad."

What is next for you? Will you be straight back to Saracens ahead of the start of the Aviva Premiership season?

"I think I'll be straight back in. I don't know whether I'll be playing next weekend but I think I'll be reporting Monday morning so my mind switches to the Premiership now which is very exciting and hopefully get stuck into that with Sarries."
