James Haskell expects "raised" performance in Paris

England expect to 'raise their performance' against France in Paris this weekend, says flanker James Haskell.

England flanker James Haskell has challenged his teammates to raise their game when they meet France for the second time in a week on Saturday.

The World Cup hosts edged out their Six Nations rivals 19-14 at Twickenham last weekend in their first warm-up match, but Stuart Lancaster's side were criticised for their second-half display in which they made several set-piece errors.

Haskell is quoted as saying by The Telegraph: "We're very critical and very honest. There will be a lot of attention to detail on correcting it. There has been a lot of chopping and changing.

"First pre-season, if it goes well, people start talking you up. If it doesn't, they start commenting. I have every confidence that it will be put right and the performance will be raised.

"In the training sessions, I've been really excited with what I've seen and it's made me think we can be up there competing for the World Cup. We've seen one group of boys play. We'll probably see a different group this weekend. I thought that some of the guys were quite devastating at times."

Saturday's match in Paris is England's final game before Lancaster names his final 31-man squad.
