George Ford looking forward to new era under Eddie Jones

England fly-half George Ford says that he is looking forward to life under new head coach Eddie Jones.

England fly-half George Ford has stated that he is looking forward to playing under new head coach Eddie Jones.

The former Japan and Australia coach was appointed as successor to Stuart Lancaster last week, who was sacked after the Red Rose exited the Rugby World Cup in the group stage on home soil.

The 55-year-old Australian, who is England's first foreign coach, has penned a four-year deal with the Rugby Football Union.

"I'm sure all the English boys are trying to put their best foot forward," Bath man Ford told BBC Sport.

"He obviously did a great job with Japan in the World Cup and he has a great CV which speaks for itself.

"I've spoken to some teammates [at Bath] who have worked under him, and they are all full of positive things, so I'm looking forward to it."

Jones's first match in charge will be the Six Nations opener against Scotland at Murrayfield on February 6.
