Owen Farrell won't be punished for dangerous tackle

Owen Farrell won't have his World Cup preparations disrupted as he avoids a suspension for a dangerous tackle.

England and Saracens fly-half Owen Farrell will not be suspended for a dangerous tackle in the Aviva Premiership final.

The 23-year-old put in a high tackle on Bath full-back Anthony Watson during the opening stages at Twickenham, and it was suggested that he would be cited after the game.

However, he has been punished with just a Citing Commissioner Warning, which is not a red card offence.

Farrell could have been handed a two-week suspension, which would have affected his World Cup preparations in August.

Saracens won the match 28-16.
