Catt appointed England attack coach

Stuart Lancaster has appointed Mike Catt as England's attacking skills coach on a permanent basis.

Catt, who made 75 appearances for England as a player, worked with Lancaster on the summer tour to South Africa and has impressed enough to earn a full-time role.

The 40-year-old joins Graham Rowntree and Andy Farrell in Lancaster's back-room team and will work with both the elite and Saxons squads.

Catt said: "I loved working with the squad in South Africa and, while gutted not to win the series, I can see that this group of players is heading in the right direction."

"Stuart, Graham and Andy did a fantastic job in the Six Nations and to be able to work with them and the best players in England is a great honour."

The South African-born centre was part of England's 2003 World Cup-winning squad.
