Mike Brown keen to be cautious in recovery from concussion

England and Harlequins full-back Mike Brown insists that he will not rush his recovery from concussion following recent issues for other players.

England and Harlequins full-back Mike Brown has insisted that he has no intention of rushing his recovery following recent concussion issues.

Brown pulled out of his side's loss to Saracens at Wembley last weekend due to the effects of a problem he suffered during the Six Nations, and he is wary of hurrying back to action in a year when a setback could disrupt his preparations for the World Cup.

"It was just after the France game, there wasn't one incident where I was dizzy or concussed, but after the game I just didn't feel quite right," the 29-year-old told reporters.

"I had a headache the Sunday and Monday, so just being cautious with it, I don't want to get into the situation where you get a few knockouts or something.

"So with what's coming up at the end of the year, everyone's being cautious, and I'm being cautious as well."

George North is expected to miss the rest of the campaign after suffering two concussions, while Ireland's Johnny Sexton was out for 12 weeks with similar problems earlier in the season.
