Mike Ford proud despite Bath defeat

Bath head coach Mike Ford insists that he is proud of his players despite their 28-16 defeat to Saracens in the Aviva Premiership final.

Bath head coach Mike Ford has insisted that he is proud of his team despite their loss to Saracens in the Aviva Premiership final.

Saracens were crowned champions of England for a second time on Saturday thanks to a 28-16 triumph at Twickenham.

The defeat means that Bath have now gone 19 years without winning the league.

"I'm proud of what we've done," Ford told reporters. "Proud of the players. We haven't quite cracked it [on this occasion] but I'm proud."

Bath finished the regular season in second place in the Aviva Premiership table.
