Simmons's ban reduced

Australia lock Rob Simmons has had his eight-week ban reduced, but the Queensland Reds player will still be unavailable for the Wallabies' match against Wales.

The 23-year-old was originally hit with the ban a fortnight ago but today the decision was made to reduce the suspension to five weeks.

Simmons was cited for a tip tackle on French flanker Yannick Nyanga in the second half of Australia's 33-6 defeat to France earlier this month.

The Wallabies go up against Wales in Cardiff this Saturday.
