Australia's James O'Connor sidelined for six weeks

O'Connor doubtful for Test

Australia full-back James O'Connor is a doubt for the national side's Test against Scotland and Wales in June due to a liver injury.

The 21-year-old was sent to hospital after suffering a blow to the ribs during the Melbourne Rebels' defeat to Waratahs on Saturday.

The Wallabies' head coach Robbie Deans is expected to be without O'Connor for the first clash with Scotland as the versatile player has been instructed to stay out of contact training for six weeks.

There is a chance that O'Connor could be fit for Australia's Test against Wales, but it remains to be seen whether Deans will risk the former Western Force player.
