Robbie Deans allows Dave Dennis and Rob Horne to face the British and Irish Lions with the Waratahs this Saturday.

Australia head coach Robbie Deans has released two players from his squad in order to face the British and Irish Lions with Waratahs on Saturday.

Tah's captain Dave Dennis and inside centre Rob Horne have both been allowed to leave the Wallabies training camp and return to their club side prior to facing the tourists in Sydney this weekend.

The duo, who will leave the Sunshine Coast on Thursday night, will have a chance to catch the eye of country coach Deans with the added game time.

The move is also likely to please the Lions and head coach Warren Gatland, whose team have brushed aside all opposition placed in front of them so far on the tour.

Many have criticised the lack of competition for the tourists on their travels up until now, with Dennis having featured in all 15 Tests played by Australia last year and Horne boasting 14 caps.

The pair will return to the Wallabies squad following the fixture, with Deans announcing his starting XV for the first Test on June 20.
