Ian Kirke swaps Leeds Rhinos for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats

Experienced prop Ian Kirke joins Wakefield Trinity Wildcats after being released from his contract at Leeds Rhinos.

Experienced prop Ian Kirke has left Leeds Rhinos to join Super League rivals Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

The 33-year-old has penned a 12-month deal with Wakefield after being released from his contract at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.

Kirke departs Leeds following a successful eight-year spell with the club.

"Ian will add size and experience to our pack and will make us a better team," coach James Webster told Wakefield's official website.

"His professionalism will rub off on the youngsters and improve their performances. Our forward pack has genuine competition for places and pre-season has reflected that so far. I'm delighted to welcome him to the team."

Kirke won five Super League titles during his time with Leeds.
