Melbourne Storm winger Mahe Fonua signs Hull FC deal

Hull FC confirm that Tonga winger Mahe Fonua will join the club from Melbourne Storm on a three-year deal next season.

Hull FC have confirmed that Tonga winger Mahe Fonua will join the club on a three-year deal at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old, who has won four caps at international level, currently plays for Melbourne Storm.

Hull coach Lee Radford has admitted that Fonua's arrival at the KC Stadium has come as a surprise.

"This is not just a coup for the club, it's also a coup for the competition and I'm looking forward to seeing his influence in Super League," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"We were surprised to hear about his availability as a relatively established NRL player and it certainly shows we're moving in the right direction in terms of our recruitment, as he wants to play for Hull FC and he is a player that excites us and will excite the fans."

Fonua made his Melbourne Storm debut during the 2012 NRL season.
