Hull owner apologises to fans

Hull owner Adam Pearson has apologised to the club's fans for their "embarrassing" Super League playoff defeat to Huddersfield Giants.

The club suffered a 76-18 loss at the Galpharm Stadium, prompting Pearson to promise the travelling fans a future discount.

"On behalf of the club, I want to apologise unreservedly for the embarrassing performance that was produced in our playoff fixture last night," Pearson told the club's official website.

"As a gesture of good will from the club, every supporter who attended the game will receive the admission price of their ticket as a discount when renewing or buying a season pass for 2014."

The result has raised questions over coach Peter Gentle's future.
