Gareth Ellis says that he is 'excited' to take on the challenge at Hull following his move at the weekend.

England international Gareth Ellis has insisted that he is ready for the challenge at Hull.

The 31-year-old moved to the club for the upcoming Super League XVIII campaign by signing a three-year deal after deciding to leave the NRL.

"I just think they're a club showing a lot of ambition, there's a lot of excitement around the place," Ellis told Sky Sports News.

"For me, where I am in my career, it's a great challenge to be part of that. I'm really looking forward to hopefully taking the club on to bigger and better things."

Ellis was named as the side's captain on Saturday.
