Sir Alex Ferguson's horse Telescope to miss Epsom Derby

Telescope to miss Epson Derby

Telescope, who is partly owned by Sir Alex Ferguson, has been ruled out of the Derby at Epsom due to injury.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained horse, which was watched by the former Manchester United boss this week, will not run due to soreness on the shin.

The loss of the third favourite now leaves 16/1 chance Libertarian as the shortest-priced British contender for the race.

The Derby begins on June 1.
