Wolves'' Jamie O'Hara to quit Twitter after money controversy

O'Hara plans to quit Twitter

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Jamie O'Hara has revealed that he will close down his Twitter account after being criticised for moaning about money "stress".

The 26-year-old sparked controversy when he claimed that things were "easier" when he was earning £100 a week while in the youth system as opposed to his reported £35,000-a-week wages he picks up now.

After receiving a flurry of angry messages from fellow users on the social network site, the midfielder tweeted: "Had a good think last night and today is my last day on Twitter, I'll be starting a private Facebook account and anyone who is a genuine fan can send me a friend request."

O'Hara tried to defend himself by saying that he understands how "lucky" he is to earn a substantial wage.
