Whelan to take FA Cup to Barbados

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has revealed that he intends to take the FA Cup with him on holiday to Barbados.

The 76-year-old has insisted that he wants to show off the Latics' achievements with the locals on the Caribbean island later this year.

"I have promised Barbados I will take it there," the Daily Mail quotes Whelan as saying. "I will do that in November and let every youngster on the island look at it. We are so proud at what we have done."

Whelan is said to own a villa on the island.
