James McArthur vows to watch Champions League, despite partner due to give birth

Wigan Athletic midfielder James McArthur vows to watch Arsenal's Champions League tie against Bayern Munich, despite his wife being due to give birth.

Wigan Athletic midfielder James McArthur revealed that he was going to watch Arsenal's Champions League clash against Bayern Munich at all costs, despite his partner being close to giving birth.

The 26-year-old posted on Twitter from the hospital where his wife was being induced ahead of Arsenal's 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich at the Emirates on Wednesday.

McArthur, who won the FA Cup with now-Championship side Wigan last season, posted a photo of his partner lying on the hospital bed with a television switched on and ready.

He accompanied the image with the message: "Misses is getting induced and hopefully having baby tonight but I ain't missing the footy."
