West Ham United chairman David Gold tells unhappy fan to 'go to Specsavers'

West Ham United chairman David Gold tells a fan on Twitter to go to Specsavers after he slammed the team's performance against Sunderland.

West Ham United chairman David Gold has hit back at a fan on Twitter after he criticised the team's playing style against Sunderland on Monday night.

The Hammers secured a 2-1 victory at the Stadium of Light, which has almost secured the club's Premier League survival.

Gold took to the social networking website earlier this week to urge the fans to give their backing after manager Sam Allardyce and the players were booed by home supporters following the side's 2-1 victory over Hull City on March 26.

Despite last night's result, some disgruntled fans tweeted their views, with one Twitter user receiving a reply from Gold stating that he should maybe "see a doctor" or go get his eyes checked at Specsavers.

West Ham are 11th in the table with six games left to play.
