West Ham's David Gold "feeling better" after being taken ill with pneumonia

Gold "over worst" of pneumonia

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has revealed that he is "over the worst" of his illness after he was taken to hospital with pneumonia.

The 76-year-old spent a number of days receiving medical treatment after his daughter took him to hospital following the Hammers' 2-2 draw with Manchester United in the FA Cup third round.

Gold wrote on Twitter: "I'm over the worst. Still on intravenous antibiotics but feeling better. Thank you so much for your kind words of support."

Meanwhile, on the pitch, West Ham are preparing to face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light tomorrow.
