Udinese defender found guilty of racism

Udinese defender Danilo has been sentenced to one year in jail for racist abuse by a court in Brazil.

The 28-year-old was found guilty of calling Atletico Paraenese's Manoel a "monkey" while he was playing for Brazilian side Palmeiras in 2010.

He also spat at his opponent during the match in the Copa do Brasil.

The centre-back's punishment is expected to be reduced to a €127,000 (£103,000) fine following an appeal.

Danilo, who has been linked with a move to Juventus, joined Udinese from Palmeiras last year.
