Make-A-Wish teen plays for Sounders

A teenager suffering from cystic fibrosis made his debut for the Seattle Sounders at the weekend, courtesy of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Eighteen-year-old Xander Bailey, who dreamed of becoming a professional footballer when he was younger, made a cameo appearance during their friendly against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

Bailey signed an official contract with the MLS side and lined up alongside Clint Dempsey for kickoff before Spurs allowed the youngster to take a shot, although his effort was saved by Brad Friedel.

The Sounders subbed him off after a couple of minutes, and he received a standing ovation from the crowd.
