Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale: 'My dad still tells me off'

Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale has revealed that his father Frank still tells him off like he did when the Welsh winger was a youngster.

The 23-year-old, who became a father to a baby girl last October, has admitted that his dad's scrutiny urges him to continue proving him wrong.

"He always told me off if I did something wrong," Bale told Esquire magazine. "Even now he still does it.

"But he makes me get better and I kind of want to keep proving him wrong to keep him quiet. He's always got something to say."

Bale has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer.
