Ex-Southampton player Steve Moran to hold charity football match

Former Southampton striker Steve Moran plans to hold a charity match between Reading and Saints veterans this month.

Former Southampton striker Steve Moran will host a charity football match in order to raise money for four separate causes.

The 52-year-old, who also played for Reading, is due to put together a Reading FC legends XI and a Southampton 'Old Boys' team for a friendly clash on April 21 at Basingstoke Town's Camrose Ground.

Matt Le Tissier and Jimmy Case have been tipped to turn out for the Saints side, while Mick Gooding and John Salako could feature for Reading, according to the Daily Echo.

The money raised will be split between the Connor Lancaster Trust, Martin House Hospice, Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and Action Duchenne.
