Police save Wanyama from angry mob

Police had to save Victor Wanyama from a group of angry Kenya fans after the country failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The team lost a two-leg tie with Lesotho 1-0 to ensure that they will not take part in the 2015 tournament in Morocco.

Following the full-time whistle, supporters targeted the Southampton midfielder, but officers stepped in to escort him away from the mob.

Coach Adel Amrouche and his assistants were fired immediately after the match.
