Cristiano Ronaldo given diamond Nike football boots after Ballon d'Or triumph

Nike have created diamond football boots as a tribute to Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo following his Ballon d'Or triumph.

The 29-year-old scooped his third FIFA title on Monday evening, beating his Barcelona rival Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

To mark Ronaldo's successful 2014, in which he won the Champions League, Copa del Rey, European Super Cup and Club World Cup, Nike have created the 'Mercurial CR7 Rare Gold' boots.

The footwear are gold, silver and black, with 'micro diamonds' encrusted into the CR7 logo close to the heel.
