Alvaro Arbeloa jokes about 'running over' Gareth Bale in his car

Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa has joked that he 'ran over' teammate Gareth Bale in his car following reports of how the Welshman suffered a leg injury.

It has been claimed that the 24-year-old was left with a bruised leg following a late challenge from Arbeloa in a training session back in October last year.

After the reports emerged, Arbeloa took to Twitter to post a photo of the pair with the message: "The truth is I ran him over with my car, but he's a strong fellow and he's still alive."

Arbeloa previously broke the hand of goalkeeper Iker Casillas during a training session.
