Adam Federici's girlfriend slams Reading

The girlfriend of Reading's Adam Federici has taken to Twitter to express her disgust at the Australian goalkeeper being dropped ahead of the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

After making high-profile errors in the previous games against Stoke City and Chelsea, Federici was replaced by 22-year-old Alex McCarthy for last Sunday's clash with Spurs.

Partner Micaela Gardner was far from impressed with the decision.

She tweeted: "Football has left me feeling totally numb and empty inside! For once I have NO explanation! #noloyalty #absolutejoke.

"Unbelievable!!! You need thick skin for success!!"

Federici was not even named among the substitutes at the weekend, with initial reports suggesting that he was carrying an injury.
