Ex-Rangers owner Craig Whyte arrested in Mexico

Former Rangers owner Craig Whyte has reportedly been arrested in Mexico following a police raid on his property.

Two arrest warrants have been issued in recent weeks after the 43-year-old, who plunged the Gers into financial meltdown in 2012, failed to turn up to four separate court hearings.

According to The Telegraph, Whyte has now been taken into custody to await sentence which could see him jailed for up to 28 days.

It is alleged that the shamed entrepreneur owes £20m in fines.
